OVERVIEW
The Public Works Department is responsible for a wide variety of activities, including the following:
Maintenance of public facilities including park grounds and buildings, trails, open space, traffic signals, drainage systems, roads, medians, shoulders, and landscaping within the public right-of-way;
Public Works administration, including grant administration, undergrounding districts, and transportation coordination and refuse disposal and recycling programs;
City engineering, including project design, traffic safety, and construction management.

ENCROACHMENT PERMITS
To work within the Public Right of Way, which can include: sidewalks, parkways, driveway aprons and gutters, you will need an Encroachment permit. For more information click on the checklist link below and call City staff at (310) 544-5252.
