DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  The work generally consists of providing traffic control, construction survey, removal and replacement of  damaged sidewalks, curb & gutter and cross gutters which have been displaced by parkway tree roots or other damage, construction of PCC access ramps, improvements to bus stops, roadway rehabilitation consisting of saw cutting and removal of failing asphalt concrete and base material and replacement with deep lift asphalt concrete, crack routing and sealing, application of microsurfacing, adjustment of surface utilities to finish grade, replacement of damaged/faded traffic signs, replacement of existing pavement striping and markings with thermoplastic, and placement of raised pavement markers.

Week of 12/19/11-12/23/11:  Installation of concrete bus pads, and repair of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk at various locations between Hawthorne Blvd and Conqueror Dr (project limits)

Week of 12/26/11-12/30/11:  No work scheduled

Week of 1/2/12-1/6/12:   Installation of concrete bus pads and repair of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk at various locations within project limits, bus shelter work on Palos Verdes Drive South near Tramonto Dr, and preparation of asphalt roadway for resurfacing on Palos Verdes Drive South near Schooner Dr. and Conqueror Dr.

Week of 1/9/12-1/13/12:   Continued installation of concrete bus pads, repair of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk at various locations within project limits, and bus shelter work on Palos Verdes Drive South near Tramonto Dr.

Week of 1/16/12-1/20/12:   Continued bus shelter work on Palos Verdes Drive South near Tramonto Dr, and repair of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk, and full-depth asphalt repair, at various locations within project limits

Week of 1/23/12-1/27/12:   Resurfacing of the section of Palos Verdes Drive South between Schooner Dr and Conqueror Dr.  Continued repair of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk, and full-depth asphalt repair, at various locations within project limits

**Expect significant traffic delays on Palos Verdes Drive South due to resurfacing road work near Schooner Dr and Conqueror Dr between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm on Wednesday, January 25th and Thursday, January 26th, and between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm on Friday, January 27th.  Motorists are encouraged to use alternate travel routes during these time periods if possible.**

Week of 1/30/12-2/3/12:   Resurfacing of the section of Palos Verdes Drive West and Palos Verdes Drive South between Hawthorne Blvd and Wayfarer’s Chapel.  Continued repair of concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk, and full-depth asphalt repair, at various locations within project limits. ** Resurfacing of the section of Palos Verdes Drive West and Palos Verdes Drive South between Hawthorne Blvd and Wayfarers Chapel has been delayed due to equipment issues and is currently being rescheduled.**

Week of 2/6/12-2/10/12:   Localized repair work, and restoring of improvements around the relocated bus shelter near Tramonto Dr.  

Week of 2/13/12-2/17/12:   Resurfacing of the section of Palos Verdes Drive West and Palos Verdes Drive South between Hawthorne Blvd and Wayfarer’s Chapel (work originally scheduled for the week of 1/30/12).  Click here for map.

Week of 2/20/12-2/24/12:   Asphalt repair work at various locations, and preparation of pavement for microsurfacing on the westbound lanes from Narcissa Dr to south of Hawthorne Blvd, eastbound lanes from Wayfarer’s Chapel to Narcissa Dr, the intersection of Terranea Way at Palos Verdes Drive South, and the Pelican Cove (formerly Point Vicente Fishing Access) parking lot.

Week of 2/27/12-3/2/12:   Microsurfacing of the westbound lanes from Narcissa Dr to south of Hawthorne Blvd, eastbound lanes from Wayfarer’s Chapel to Narcissa Dr, the intersection of Terranea Way at Palos Verdes Drive South, and the Pelican Cove (formerly Point Vicente Fishing Access) parking lot.
